Richard
Levins

In recognition of the directions of writing in these two great traditions, this hymn has rhyme at both the left end of the line and the right end of the line.

Fern and forest, moor and fen
Burn for the wealth of wealthy men!
Field and fallow in decline
Yield there lives to the bottom line!
Heal the earth of wounds of greed!
Seal the paths of endless need!
Learn that Nature shall prevail,
Yearn for times not all for sale!
Brief be the age of grasping urge!
Reef and marsh shall reemerge!
